Before anything can be seen by a small digital camera, a voice can be heard mumbling about modern technology getting too complex. Soon the black dust cover is removed from the lens and a blurry shape of colors changes focus to a more perceivable image. At first, as Gabriel gets used to the camera all that can be seen so far is grass as he adjusts the tiny viewing screen so he see what he is recording. Juggling from a book he picked up at a bookstore on the way to the bus station, Solomon attempts to mention facts about the Missouri Botanical Garden. An area that has captured his interest most of all is a 14 acre area designed to represent a serene Japanese garden. Struggling to capture the essence of the awe inspiring garden, a group of older looking gentleman of the Asian descent peek his curiosity. Quietly Gabriel films the men, in which they appear to be doing some simple warm up procedures. As quiet as he was, Solomon was noticed by one of the men who motion for him to come over.

Good morning son, are you curious as to what we are doing ?

~Gabriel~
As a matter of fact... yes, I am curious.
~Old Man~
My friends and I were just warming up before our morning Tai chi chuan.
~Gabriel~
Sorry to sound ignorant, but what is that ? .. some type of exercise.
~Old Man~
Ignorance is assuming one knows everything. You admitted not knowing and asked a question. Questions lead to answers. Answers lead to knowledge. To know something, is that not wisdom?
Solomon has a bewildered look on his face as he scratches his head. The short Asian man almost finding amusement in the situation.
~Old Man~
Tai chi chuan my young friend is exercise, not only for the body, but also for the mind and the soul. It helps to achieve harmony in ones life. Would you care to join us ?

~Gabriel~
I wouldn't want to intrude...
Before Solomon can finish talking he is cut off by a hand on his shoulder.
~Old Man~
It would not be such my young friend.

Not needing any further encouragement, Solomon is soon joining in the warm up session consisting of leg and arm stretches, as well as limbering up to get the blood flowing through the body. Once the body has been stretched, and the joints relaxed, a series of breathing ensues.
~Old Man~
First thing we shall do today is teach you how to breath. Before you ask what, or any other questions, I know the body breaths automatically to fill our lungs with air. But what we will teach you is how to breath properly to train your Qi.. or your breath energy. Next we will teach you about your center of balance.

Using his hands while inhaling, holding his breath for a moment then exhaling, the old man shows Gabriel by example how to use his abdomen to inhale vital oxygen into his body. Next the man crouches to a position with his knees bent and legs slightly apart. Motioning for Solomon to do the same, after a few corrections he gets his stance right.
~Old Man~
Good. Now we will continue our breathing... this time while you inhale, clear your mind of all thoughts.
